YES, WE CAN.

Conventional contract manufacturers usually say no to small-scale manufacturing. If you’re a small business with novel technologies recently approved for marketing, searching for manufacturers that can accommodate your needs can be difficult, costly, and stressful.

MEET THE MANUFACTURING TEAM

Matthew Fox

Matthew Fox

Vice President, Manufacturing

Matt was born with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for diligence. At nine, he started working for his grandparents at their hometown restaurant in Cuero, TX. His job was to peel buckets of potatoes for their famous French fries, which Matt accomplished with focus and hard work. Matt also mowed up to 10 yards around Cuero and worked as a lifeguard through high school.

With a strong aspiration to become an engineer, Matt put himself through college by continuing to lifeguard, mow lawns, and work at the highway department. During college, he “co-op’d” (participated in a co-op (Cooperative Education) program) at the Texas Heart Institute from 1998 to 1999 before graduating with a degree in BS Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station in 2000.

After his co-op, Biotex founders hired Matt as the third employee of the company. He started as a Research Associate, advanced to Product Development Engineer after earning his degree, and became the company’s Engineering and Operations Manager in 2007.

Matt’s entrepreneurial drive inspired him to start his own contract manufacturing business, allowing him to transition to becoming a supplier and consultant to Biotex and other medical device manufacturers. A few years later, he became a significant part of the large-scale medical device manufacturer CooperSurgical, based in Stafford, TX, operations management team as a Value Stream Manager.

In 2021, Matt returned to Biotex as the head of the Manufacturing Department. With his leadership, expertise, and passion for success, he strived to take Manufacturing to the next level. He leveraged his team's skills and resources to position the department as a large-scale contract manufacturer, aiming to contribute to Biotex's sustainability, growth, and profitability.

In 2023, Matt was promoted to Vice President of Manufacturing. With his new role, his goal is to lead, scale, and transform Manufacturing toward establishing robust business partnerships and taking on diverse projects beyond Texas.

On top of Matt's achievements in his profession, he is also an accomplished father of five and husband to his loving wife, Kathy.

Matt's children are between five and fourteen years of age, including nine-year-old identical twins. His wife is a Child Nutritionist with Region 3. She earned her BS in Nutrition from Montana State and an Associate's degree in the Culinary Arts from the Art Institute of Houston. She has also worked as an Executive Chef at the Big Sky Resort in Montana for ten years.

Matt's hobbies include remodeling and restoring their home built in 1885, attending his children's sporting events and activities, and bow hunting.
